CLEANING OF GOVERNMENT OFFICES

TO THE EDITOR Sir, —I wonder if “ Inquirer,” who writes in your, issue of August 25, has found a man’s job yet, or is he still waiting on the poor charwoman’s job? He does not take into consideration that charwomen are all bread-winners or else they would not be engaged as they are. The work they obtain outside would not go very far. It would not even pay rent, no matter how small this may be. “ Inquirer ” must surely be a bachelor—one without sisters—or he would think how he would feel if someone wanted their jobs and they were thrown on charity. It is not a case of live and let live. He must have a very paltry nature. —I am,; etc., A Bread-winner.
