(From Our Own Correspondent.) ALEXANDRA. July 29. THE WEATHER. The weather has been very mild during the week, notwithstanding that a fall of snow to the extent of half an inch took place on Tuesday. There has been very little snow on the ranges so far this year, and the irrigation authorities are anxiously looking forward to heavy falls of snow, GOLF. On Saturday Alexandra played Clyde on the local golf links for the Dewar Cup, the match also counting as an interclub one. The following are the scores, the first five players taking part in the Dewar Cup Match (Alexandra names first): — V. A. Fenwick beat W. M. Lopdell,, 5 and 4; V. Schaumann beat P. Miller, 5 and 4; R. A. Long beat W. K. George, 5 and 4; J. J. O’Kane beat E. W. George, 3 and 1; H. P. Cowie beat F. R. Bould, 5 and 4; W. B. Willstead beat T. R. Robertson, 3 and 2; James Duncan lost to J. Bould, 2 and 1; Father O’Connell beat A. S. Powley. 6 and 5; A. F. Stewart beat P. Edmonds, 9 and 7. Alexandra won the interclub match by 11 to 3. In the local Men’s Championship .V. A. Fenwick beat V. J. Schumann and R. A. Long beat F. B. Belcher after very interesting games. This now leaves V. A. Fenwick to play R. A. Long for the final. RABBIT FREEZING. Large numbers of rabbits are still being received at the local freezing works. On Monday the first shipment to leave for export, amounting to 2000 cases, weighing over 80 tons, was consigned by rail to be shipped by the Tongariro for overseas ports. ; PERSONAL.

Mr George Spencer, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, Dunedin, is at present spending his annual leave with his mother at “ The Pines."
