(From Oub Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, July 29. THE WEATHER. The weather, which has been wet and squally of late, cleared last night and this morning dawned bright and clear. A slight rise has been noticed in tbe Shag River during the last day or two. , ' EARLY LAMBS. Lambs have already made their appearance in the district; there being as many as 30 on Mr J. S. Miller’s farm, Bushy Park. ODDFELLOWS’ BALL. , Despite the inclement weather, over 130 couples were present at the Oddfellows’ Lodge’s annual ball held in the Town Hall on Wednesday night. .The hall was tastefully decorated with streamers, flags and coloured lights. Among those present were representatives of lodges from Oamaru, Ravensbourne, and Dunedin.
