(From Our Own Correspondent.) ALEXANDRA, July 11. The following are the results of the football in Central Otago on Saturday: Matakanui 13, Alexandra nil! Clyde 3, Cromwell mh Lowburn 8; Matakanui; B nil. Alexandra B 14, Wanaka B o. Moa Creek 5, Bannockburn J. Matakanui is now in an almost unassailable position for the Vincent Shield. . In Tuapeka County the results were:— Miller’s Flat 3, Coal Creek nil. Roxburgh 8, Ettrick nil.Miller’s Flat is thus the winner of the Tuapeka Sub-union’s competition. MAGISTRATE’S COURT. A sitting of the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court was presided over by Mr H. J. Dixon, S.M. ' , Judgment for , the plaintiffs by default was given in the following cases: 1 J; D. Thomson and Sop v. E. Thompson, claim -15 s 3d, with costs (8s); A. Hawley v. C B. Robertson, claim £lO, with costs (fiiss.ed). „ , ~ The inspector of awards proceeded against A. L. Norwood claiming £2O as penalty for a breach of award in that a waitress had been underpaid, by the defendant to the extent of 5s 9d. After hearing evidence the magistrate gave judgment for the plaintiff for £2 ss, with witnesses’ expenses v£3 2s 2d). EARLY LAMBS. It is very seldom that lambs are to be seen in Central Otago during the month of July, but one has made its appearance on the property of Mr J. H. Rivers. The weather is particularly mild for tins' season of the year. PERSONAL. Mr J. Lees, of Wellington, has commenced duty on the clerical staff of the Public Works Department at Alexandra.
