MANCHURIAN CUSTOMS
QUESTION OF CONTROL . ASSURANCES FROM JAPAN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 13. Questioned in the House of Commons as to the intentions of the Japanese Government regarding the Manchurian Customs, Captain R. A., Eden (Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs) said that control of the Manchurian Customs by the Japanese Government would be entirely inconsistent with the assurances given by the Japanese Government that it shared Britain’s desire to see the integrity of the Chinese maritime Customs maintained.
