PUBLICATIONS RECEIVED

A leading attraction in the June number of the Home, the monthly magazine published by Art in Australia, Ltd., is the pictorial feature, “Rival Beauties,” which consists of several pages of photographs of members of the younger sets in the six States. Among the articles is an interview with Lady Chaytor, entitled “Flying and Fashion,” while the usual features are all included, embellished with excellent photographic reproductions. “ The Beauty of Cats ” is demonstrated by Michael Joseph in the May number of the Strand Magazine, his eulogy being supported by a number of feline photographic studies. Mr Wodehouse, always up to date, entitles his short story “The Bishop’s Cat,” among the other coniributors being Dale Collins, de Vere Stacpoole, Denis Mackail, Robert Hichen'c and F. E. Baily. The June number of the B.P. Magazine deals interestingly with all phases of foreign travel, some of the countries to which reference is paid in letterpress and photograph being Austria, “the real Maoriland,” Siam, and China, while there is a photogravure section devoted to examples of - the architecture 6f the East. The magazine contains also articles, and illustrations relating to thd kinema, fashion, and the stage. An amusingly malicious little tale that has the ring of truth is contained in the May number of Chambers’s Journal. It describes how an American millionaire goes to Africa to kill tigers, and is enabled to do so in an efficient way thanks to the subterfuge of his resourceful guides.
