(Per United Press Association.) TE AROHA, June 10. John King, a farmer, of Te Aroha West, was fined £2O at the Magistrate’s Court for the theft of railway sleepers from property adjoining his private re-si dencc. He used the sleepers ns fencing posts. Frederick Arthur Clarkin, a young married man, was 'sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on eight charges of theft of motor accessories. CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 10. L The section of the Tramway Act dealing with certificated motormen, which was suspended during the recent strike of tramway employees, and which permitted the Christchurch Tramway Board to run a restricted service, is to be reinserted in the Act. Advice to this effect was received by Mr H. T. Armstrong, M.P. this morning from the Minister of Transport (Mr J. G, Coates).
