, ANNUAL MEETING In the absence of the president (Mr E. Pilling) Mr J. R. Brown presided over the annual meeting of the Taieri Horticultural Society. The balance sheet, which was adopted, showed a credit of £8 16s 9d, an increase on the previous year. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patrons—Messrs \V. E. M'Lean (Mayor), A. E. Ansell, M.P., W. C. Todd, and J. S. Nichol; president, Mr E. Pilling; vice-presidents — the Rev. Mr Ferry, Drs Shaw and Spedding. Messrs A. W. M'Cunn, J. R. Brown, J. Aitken, and J. M’Ausland; committee —Mesdames E. Pilling, Pringle, D. Bowie, G. Smith, M. Wilson, R. M. Greaves, Ferry, and P. Renton, and Messrs E. Pilling. A. W. M'Cuhn, J. R. Brown, J. Aitken) J. M'Ausland, S. M'Millan, J. Kemp. A. Murdoch, J. Borne, P. Renton, and F. A. Cheyne: secretary. Miss B. Pearson: auditor, Mr E. Pilling. A Schedule Committee was elected to draw up the schedule for the ensuing year.
