Mr Tanner has been providing the "staff of life” for residents of Otago and for the past 18 years has conducted Covent Garden Company i‘n Flllcnl street, and for the past 18 years has conducted the well-known bakery, pastrycook, and grocery store at the corner of Howe and King streets. Ifo may aptly be termed a “live wire.” n« hn anticipates the wants of his customers. If a hard-baked loaf or any special kind is in demand he is the first to supply the want. The bakery is fitted with all the latest appliances appertaining ’to the trade, including Artifex machines, similar to the plant at the International Exhibition that attracted such a great deal of attention. Of special importance td housewives is the fact that Mr Tanner, in his attempt to reduce the cost of living, is selling the 41b loat at BJd. A special feature of this bakery 's that only New Zealand flour and malts are used, when it is remembered that an increasing quantity of Canadian flour is coming to this country every year, this is A fact that should he borne in mind.
