HAYWARDS’ NORTH-END FURNISHING COMPANY, LTD.

Although established only two years ago by the late Mr C. H. Hayward, the North End Furnishing Company, Ltd., has already become known throughout Otago for the quality of its products, for its modern business and manufacturing methods, and for its reasonable prices. The late Mr Hayward had life-long association with the furnishing trade. With his brother, he established the well-knowu firm of Messrs C. and W. Hayward, Ltd., and was for many years the senior partner. The wealth of his experience was brought to bear on the newer business that, he established later in life. As the name implies, the business is situated in the north end of the city and off the main thoroughfares. This was a deliberate act on the part of the founder, who thus was able, with the lower rental and a saving all round in overhead charges, to pass his manufactures on to the public at a very low figure, while still retaining the excellence of quality always associated with the name of Hayward. All the furniture is manufactured-under the best possible conditions in the company’s own up-to-date factory in Howe street, and bears the hall mark.“ Made in Dunedin.” Since the death of Mr C. H. Hayward, the business is being carried on as a company, with Mr C. J. Hayward, eldest son of the founder, as manager. Mr C. J. Hayward has also been associated with the firm of Messrs C. and W. Hayward, Ltd., joining the staff when he returned from the war, so that his 13 years of experience of furniture and its manufacture has been gained only after a solid apprenticeship. Although not in. the principal business area, Hayward’s North End Furnishing Company, Ltd’s., warehouse is well worthy of a call, and if intending patrons or inquirers will give a ring to 10-909 the firm’s car will be placed at their disposal.
