APPLICATION BY CONVICTED MEN ARTICLES IN LABOUR PAPER (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 16. (Received May 16, at 7.50 p.m.) Seven of the eight men who were convicted recently of assaulting Mr J. S. Garden applied to the Full Court for a rule nisi calling on the Labour Daily newspaper to show cause why it should not be cited for contempt of court for the publication of articles likely to prejudice them at the hearing of their appeal against their convictions. A rule nisi was granted and was made returnable next Monday.
