ANGRY DEMONSTRATORS UGLY SCENE AT NEWCASTLE (United Pres# Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 12. (Received May 12, at 11.10 p.m.) A Newcastle message states that an ugly scene occurred at the Labour Bureau to-day. Two hundred unemployed, including several women, stormed the office and took complete charge, smashing the equipment and the telephone. The police tactfully handled the situation, and persuaded the demonstrators to leave upon their receiving a promise that their complaints would be investigated.
