DESTROYED BY FIRE

A MINIATURE COTTAGE PRINCESS’S BIRTHDAY PRESENT. LONDON, March 21. The miniature thatched cottage which the Welsh people presented to Princess Elizabeth on her sixth birthday was burned while en route from Cardiff to the London ideal homes exhibition at Olympia. Welsh craftsmen who built the cottage have hurried to Olympia to reconstruct it.

FURNITURE UNDAMAGED,

(British Official Wireless.)

RUGBY, March 21. (Received March 22, at 5.5 p.m.) The Duke of York, in a telegram to the Lord Mayor of Cardiff, expressed deep regret at the destruction of Princess Elizabeth’s model house, which is a wonderful specimen of Welsh craftmanship. The furniture, which is in keeping with the model house, was in a separate vehicle and is safe.
