HISTORY IN SPRING HATS
BECOMING MILLINERY TONIC EFFECT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, February 4. “ Soulless hats are dead. Women are to be crowned with hats of romance.” These are the views expressed by Mr E. H. Syinonds (president of the British Fashions and Fabrics Bureau). There is a wealth of choice in the new spring millinery embracing styles that are reminiscent of Henry VIII, Louis XVI, Stuart, Watteau, Florentine. Gainsborough, and Marie Antoinette. Fascinating new lines and graceful curves will picturesquely frame women’s faces, and give them a new feature of attraction.
The right hat is woman’s most powerful aid in her desire to create an attractive appearance. Framed in a picturesque and becoming hat, the natural beauty of the female face becomes more fascinating, because the right hat imparts a champagne tonic effect to any woman’s features. Flowers of velvet, taffeta, and corded velvets of every hue will revive the feminine and picturesque touch which has been absent from millinery for so long.
