RESIGNATION OF GOVERNOR WASHINGTON, January 10. Mr Davis has resigned the Governorship, of the Philippine Islands. President Hoover immediately nominated Mr Theodore Roosevelt. Mr Dwight F. Davis assumed office on July 8, 1929. Mr Roosevelt, who lias held various official positions in the United States, is the eldest son of the late President Roosevelt.
