REPORTS FROM NORTHERN CENTRES. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, December 29. Light variable winds and fine summer weather prevailed at Auckland to-day, but the sky was cloudy and threatened rain during the morning. WELLINGTON, December 29. Sunshine and passing clouds made pleasant weather in Wellington to-day. There was a strong wind from the north. CHRISTCHURCH, December 29. The weather to-day was sultry, the maximum temperature in the sun being 151 degrees, the highest this summer, and in the shade 79deg. The wind varied from w'est sou’-west to east nor’-east. The barometer dropped six points to 29.80 in and became steady.
