DOCTOR STRUCK WITH STONE THE INTRUDER ESCAPES. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, September 21. At S o’clock this morning Dr W. R. Wade heard a sound in his room and saw a man leaving. He jjavo chase, and ultimately pinned the man against a tree in the garden, but was hit on the back of the head with a stone and lost his grip. The man escaped. The police were summoned, but found no trace in the dark. Only a bunch of beys was missing. The doctor is not seriously injured. Another house was also entered, some effects being taken.
