SUGGESTION FROM FRANCE CESSION OF BRITAIN’S RIGHTS, LONDON. June 19. (Received June 19, at 10 p.m.)
The Morning Post’s diplomatic correspondent understands that, following an original suggestion from France, secret negotiations have recently been progressing between France and Great Britain with a view to the latter’s cession of rights in the New Hebrides, but there is no intention of .acceding as Australian interests must be considered.
