SYDNEY CITY COUNCIL
A VERY NOISY MEETING LABOUR ALDERMEN WALK OUT. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, April 1. The noisiest meeting that has been held since the City Council took over from the Qivic Commissioners ended by Aiderman M‘Elhone walking out with the Labour aldermen, leaving the council without a quorum. Thus for the second time the council has been prevented from dealing with the Lord Mayor’s minute to abolish the internal and audit departments, and to reorganise both under the town clerk’s supervision. The Lord Mayor said the position was so serious that he would take legal advice to meet it.
