TRAGEDY AT NICE
WOMAN DRIVES OVER CUFF FORMER RESIDENT OF SYDNEY. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, April 1. (Received April 1, at 11 p.m.) The Nice correspondent of the Daily Express states that the police there believe that Dr Chavannes, who is a decendant of the famous painter, may have been in the motor car with Mrs Townsend. De Chavannes was a close friend of Mrs Townsend. WORRY OVER EYE TROUBLE. SYDNEY, April 1. (Received April 1, at 11 p.m.) Tiie Mrs Townsend mentioned in the Nice message was a former Sydney girl. She married a rich Chicago man and motored over a precipice near Nice, where she was staying with her husband and baby. It is believed that worry over eye trouble was responsible for the tragedy.
