AIR PAGEANT AT NORTH TAIERI.

Amongst the names of contestants in the competitions to be held in connection with the big Air Pageant at North Taieri on Saturday are airmen of considerable reputation and experience, including Flying officer Owen, who has flown from England to Australia, Squadron Leader MacGregor, Fight Lieutenant Burrell, and a number of officers of the New Zealand Permanent Air Force. The public, therefore, may depend on witnessing flying of a nature that calls for the utmost skill and courage. One contest that is sure to arouse great interest will be the aerial combat between Squadron Loader MacGregor and Fight Lieutenant Burrell, au example of the many deadly contests that were enacted daily during the war on the Western Front. There will be 20 competing aeroplanes of different types, including Gloster Grebes and Bristol Fighters, but the great monster of the air, Fairey 111 F. Bomber, belonging to the New Zealand Air Force, is sure to attract special notice to itself on account of its great size, power, and speed. Altogether a novel and most attractive programme has been arranged, and large numbers are sure to patronise the pageant, the first of its kind to bo held in Otago.
