WANAKA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) PEMBROKE, January 24. t THE WEATHER. The weather during the past week was unsettled, with strong north-west winds followed by heavy rain. The rainfall so far this month has exceeded that of any month during 1030, close on five inches having fallen. Harvesting work is being delayed on account of the broken weather. LAWN TENNIS. The Wanaka lawn tennis team played the first game in the second round of the senior competition at Tarras on Saturday, Wanaka winning by seven sets to nine. The following, are the scores, Tarras names being given first;— Ladies’ Singles.—Miss V. Jolly 6, Mrs Thomson 1: Mrs Gibson 4, Miss Weavers 6; Miss Jolly (!, Miss E. ■ Ceilings 3; Mrs Hyde 6, Miss Broad 3. Men’s Singles.—V. Jolly 2, G. Morris 9; J. Elliot 4, R. Waldron 9; G. Hyde 1, G.
