OBITUARY
MR J. L. BRUCE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 25. The death is announced of John Leslie Bruce; aged 72. He was identified with the foundation of the Department of Agriculture, and during nearly 40 years’ service he was inspector of stock at Palmerston and Balclutha, inspector in charge at Dunedin, assistant director of the live stock division and superintendent of experimental farms. He reported in 1908 on irrigation in Central Otago. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church. He leaves a widow, two daughters, and two sons.
