SHANGHAI, November 29, (Received Nov. 30, at 5.5 p.m.) A message from Sarasti states that Mrs H. D. Hayward, an American, and Miss Egomersal, a British nurse, left Vim station, in Lanchow, at the end- of October for Peking, Mrs Hayward, who was critically ill, was seeking a surgical operation. Last week, when they were travelling on rafts 20 miles from Patoachen, bandits captured, robbed, and stripped them of their clothing. The women are still in captivity. The weather is bitterly cold. Other missionaries are attempting to rescue them. A relief party, which will leave Peking to-morrow, includes Captain Staples, of the British navy.
