VISIT OF AUSTRAUAN TEAM. LEADING PLAYERS INCLUDED. (Feb United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 28. The New Zealand Cricket Council has authorised Mr Arthur Sims, who is now in Australia, to negotiate with the Australian Board of Control for the visit of an Australian team, leaving Australia on March 6. It is almost certain that the following players will be included:— Bradman, Jackson, Richardson, Mailey, Rigg, Allsopp, Harris, Oldfield, Gritnmett, and probably Woodfull and Ponsford. If the arrangements can be concluded two matches against New Zealand can be played before the New Zealand team leaves for England. , (HAWKE • CUP MATCH. MANAWATU v. WAIRARAPA. (Peb United Press Association.! MASTERTON, November 1 28. The Hawke Cup elimination match between Manawatu and Wairarapa was commenced., to-day at the Park Oval on a rather tricky wicket. Manawatu had first strike, compiling 137, and at stumps for the day Wairarapa had made 135 for the loss of nine wickets. The scoring was very slow. The scores are:— MANAWATU.
