Franz Khristina, a Czech Government official, is the central .figure in a triple love affair. He is a remarkably handsome fellow, and was charged with murder. He arranged that his fiancee, Elizabeth Matula, a, friend, Zora Klasovitis, and himself should die together, as all three loved each other. They spent the day eating, drinking, and dancing, then went to a romantic ruin on the Cavalry Mountain. He explained; “ The girls wanted me to shoot them straight away. ‘ No,’ I said, ‘ we will wait till midnight.’ Elizabeth asked to be shot first, but Zora pushed the revolver into my hands and sand, ‘No, me first.’ Still I waited. Elizabeth said, ‘ It could have been over long ago.’ ” Khristina concluded: “ All I know is that I shot Elizabeth, then placed the pistol to my temple. Zora snatched it away. I took her head in my hands. She shut her eyes and I fired. Then terror overcame me. ,1 rushed down the mountain and surrendered to the police.” Accused was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. '
