Baldwin) attended a party meeting today, when 800 delegates to the Council’ of the National Conservative and Unionist Associations junanimously passed a resolution expressing grateful appreciation of his services to’ the party. In the course of a speech Mr Baldwin expressed the.“ ; view. that : the only good thing to come out of the recent Imperial. Conference ■. was the decision, to adjourn the discussipn of economic subjects to Ottawa next year. He said that interimperial trade would be discussed there, and' the matter would be discussed by .the Conservative Party. The first step the Conservatives would tajce when they came into power would be to effect an emergency tariff.
