FORESTERS.

The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith was held on Wednesday last. There was a good attendance of the members. The newly-elected officers were congratulated on the manner m which they had carried out their duties. A large amount of business was transacted, and letters were received from members further afield, conveying their good wishes to the court. Invitations were accepted from Courts Robin Hood and Little John to be represented at their respective anniversary celebrations., Bro. .A. F. Grant reported that, the football match against Court Excelsior, played last Saturday, resulted in a draw, and Bro. A. C. Philip reported that Court Excelsior had won the “ Soccer ” match. It was agreed to transpose • the evening set down for November 12 to next meeting;, when an early start; will-he made with the business. Members will be advised per the press at a later date, A Strong committee was appointed for the management of the juvenile branch, Court Pride of the Valley. Two new members were admitted, and after the meeting closed the mcmbejrs were entertained by Bros. Slack, Heaton, Duncan, and Grant, and a very pleasant time was spent. There was ft fait attendance of members at the quarterly meeting of Court Bruce, Milton, on September 22, when I. Sis. W. Caruio was in charge, in the absence of the C.E. A motion of, sympathy was passed with the relatives' owßro. J. Morris, members standing in silence as a mark of respect. Arrangements wore made to visit the courts at Balclutha on October 6. The following were ap- ' pointed delegates to the next annual district meeting:—P.C.R, Bro. E. Marshall; B. Sis. Fiddes, and S.W. Si*. Nicholls. A strong committee was appointed as the Management Committee for the juvenile court, and officers also elected. Two new members were admitted before the meeting closed. The C.R., Bro. J. H. M'Kay, presided over_ a fair attendance at the quarterly meeting of Court St. Andrew's on Monday last. The D.C.K., Bro. Q. L. Walmfeley, .and the D.S.C.R., Bro. J, H. Reynolds, were welcomed. The judges' of the recent efficiency competitions notified the court that it had attained second place, and congratulated the members on the greatly improved work of the court. The newly-elected officers were installed by Hie district officers present in an efficient manner. The Foresters' Tribute to the Fallen was given in an impressive manner by the D. In replying to the toast, the district officers congratulated the officers and ■ members on their improvement in conducting the business. On behalf of the court, the D.C.R. presented Bro. R. Leyland with the collar and certificate of a P.0.R., and the recipient suitably replied. Robertson. a Presentation whs made to P.CR. Bro. A. G. Reynolds with the collar of that office, and he returned thanks. Arrangements were made to celebrate the fortysecond anniversary of the court in a fitting manner. The toast of “ The District Executive was responded to by tha D.S.C.R., D.T,, and all of whom congratulated the members on the selection of their officers, P.D.C.R. Bro. Robertson returned thanks on behalf of , Court Pride of the Leith for the cordial reception he always received when visiting the court.
