THE WEATHER.
REPORTS FROM NORTHERN CENTRES. (Special to Daily Tons.) AUCKLAND, September 29. The weather was very boisterous at : Auckland to-day. A strong west wind r blew in frequent severe squalls accompanied by heavy rain and hail. The barometer has been falling since Sundaynight, and now registers 29.451 n, WELLINGTON, September 29. Very heavy rain fell In Wellington earty this morning, but It ceased about 10 o clock. The remainder of the day was fine, and in the afternoon the sun broke through. The wind came from the north-west and was very cold. CHRISTCHURCH, September 28. The weather to-day ,was fine in the morning,- but cloudy in the afternoon, with a smattering of rain in some parts. The wind was light from the west for o' period and then turned to the south-west. The maximum temperature was 58 degrees. The barometer has been steady all day’ at 28.15, but has gone up a few points since 5 p.tu.
