LONDON TO AUSTRALIA
FLIGHT IN FOUR DAYS! LONDON, July 29. British long-distance flyers are considering the possibility of a non-stop flight to Australia, states the aeronautical correspondent of the Evening News. A Fairey-Napier long-distance monoplane, such as was used by the late Squadron-leader Jones-Williams in his 50-hour non-stop Indian flight, could reach Australia with one refuelling over; India. A Puss-Moth, which has a range of 4000 miles, could manage with refuellings at Basra and Singapore. Such a flight would bring Australia within four days at the longest. Two pilots, working alternately, would be needed. Providing for the refuelling of the aircraft would be much simpler than laying fuel at dumps in inaccessible spots.
