THE WEATHER.
REPORTS FROM NORTHERN CENTRES. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, August 11. Changeable weather prevailed at Auckland to-day. A dense fog in the early morning cleared at 9 o’clock, and was followed by bright sunshine to mid-day and heavy showers .during the afternoon. The wind was a light easterly. The barometer fell during the day, and is now steady at 29.50 in. WELLINGTON, August 11. Overcast skies again prevailed in Wellington to-day, and towards evening the wind increased from the south, and rain set in. The night is overcast, but little further rain fell. CHRISTCHURCH. August 11. The wind continues from the east, and the conditions remain dull and showery. The maximum temperature was 47deg. The barometer has varied one point during the day, and now reads 29.76 in.
