COAL MINING DISPUTE
THE NORTHERN PITS. TWO OPERATING FOR WEEKS. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 9., It has just been disclosed that for the pas. six weeks coal has been produced by non-federation labour at two of the Northern Associated Mines. These are at Fiissitcrn and Teralba. It is stated that the men are being paid according to the rates set down under the Novem bei compromise terms, and a very satisfactory daily coal average is being produced. MINERS STILL CONFERRING. NEWCASTLE, May 9. (Received'May 10, at 1.30 a.m.) The coal miners have been debating since Thursday morning whether to accept their leaders’ advice to return to work, but a considerable section is still adamant. The meeting adjourned until to-mor-row.
