SYDNEY, May 7. ■ The Treasurer (Mr Stevens) stated that the Government had definitely decided to repeal the 44-hour week legisla tion. He also foreshadowed sweeping legislation to restore industrial and fin ancial stability. He said the public service salary cut would be extended to include officers and other employees of public authorities and corporate bodies. Thus the reduction will apply almost certainly to the Police Force, and definitely to the employees of the Harbour Trust, the Government Savings Bank, the Main Roacu-. Board, and the Water and Sewerage Board. Judges are exempted. Many other sub-Govermnental bodies are likely to be affected.
