“ON WITH THE DANCE.”

The variety entertainment which has been produced by Mr J. E. Thornton for the purpose of raising funds for the relief of unemployment in the city, and for which a large company of amateurs has been m rehearsal for several weeks, will open its season at His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday, May 12. The programme is an excellent one, and is to be provided by an array of local talent that has seldom been seen in one troupe before. The performers are all local people, who have devoted a great deal of their leisure time to preparing for this effort. Dancing singing, and specialty turns will make up the evening’s entertainment, and the production will bo staged on the most lavish scale. The offering comprises vaudeville revue at its best, and should appeal to all tastes, quite apart from the special object for which it has been arranged.
