The classes are available to ill-holders of junior and aemor * free places while ior paying students, the fees are very low. The North, Otago Motor Association, through its headquarters,; has contributed £6O towards the equipment of an up-to-date workshop for apprentices attending the motor engineering, classes. Petrol, with a capacity of 12,000 gallons each. These large vertical tanks were made by the Dunedin .Engineering" Company, and transported ready for erection at the site. The office, garage, puiir house, and warehouse are constructed of brick and roofed with Texaco slates, the company s colours, red and green, being utilised to good advantage, while aluminium paint, already used on the fencing, is to be also the nredominating covering ion petrol and storage tanks. A 34gallon Foamite _ fire' engine is housed in the main building for fire fighting purposes, while the doors of the warehouse, which contains stores of lubricating oils, are fitted with devices to ensure automatic closing in the event of fire, From the two loading platforms on the railway siding the bulk petrol is conveyed by pumping to the storage tanks, from which it is loaded by gravity to the motor tanks tor distribution around the district. In establishing the Oamaru depot, the policy or the company in employing local labour, an d utilising British materials : wherever possible, has been adhered to, and the activities of the company here are in keeping with its enterprise in supplying petrols. and oils to the motorists of theDominion. , . i .. •
