Unlike those of England, the laws of Japan forbid their publication on the day of voting. Encouraged by fine weather, a larger percentage polled than in previous years. It is considered doubtful if the Government Party wil have an absolute majority. Meanwhile the Proletarians are most hopeful than an opportunity has arrived •when their party will command a decisive position,' and that the Government will be dependent on them to carry on. It is estimated that 80 per cent, of the electorate in Tokio and 72 per cent, in Osaka polled.
