All weak portions were recently surfaced with gravel, and the road graded throughout. Frequent grading should fill all requirements on this road for some time. Waipahi-Pomahaka, Waiwera Railway Station road, and Waikaka-Kelso.— Grading and general maintenance work has been earned out on these roads, and they are at present in fair order. Clydeyalc Riding.—The building of new pontoon for Clydcvale Ferry lading lias been commenced. Specifications for gravelling Ballantyne’s road, Burke’s Ford road, and Rongahere-John O’Groats road are now being-prepared.

Receipts for the four months ended January 16 amounted to £2481 17 s 4d expenditure to £3279 4s 6d. Cr .Jack, in moving the adoption of the finance Committee report, said that the affairs of the count? were satisfactory, considering the position in the country and the slowness with which the rates were coming in.
