The judicial authorities, accompanied by 150 factory workers, simultaneously raided 85 shops and arrested 95 traders and confiscated 2,000,000 roubles’ worth of copper, dyes, and other goods which traders allegedly received illegally from the State co-operative trading organisations. The arrested traders will be charged with bribery. It is expected that criminal charges will be preferred against the dealers. The police are making increasing use of the workers’ voluntary assistance for searching the homes of suspected tax defaulters. OFFICES IN LONDON.
