THE MAUI POMARE.

TO TUB EDITOR. Sir, —The attention of your readers has been called to the meeting of the executive of the Chamber of Commerce, which dealt with the. proposed itinerary of the Maui Pomare. I understand that two members of the Otago Retail Fruiterers’ Association are the representatives of the fruit trade on the Advisory Committee the Chamber of Commerce set up to deal with the distribution of Samoan and Niue Island bananas in the Otago province. Can information' be supplied why these representatives of the Retail Fruiterers’ Association were not present at this important meeting, as I am sure you will agree that the retailers are the principal distributing factors in connection with this fruit? Have the representatives of the Retail Fruiterers’ Association been purposely omitted from this meeting, or were they not sufficiently interested in this business to warrant their presence at the meeting?—l am, etc., osward Otago.
