An order has been issued by the Commission of the London Metropolitan Polite intimating that policemen on duty need not wear their helmet chin straps in the hot weather. The chin strap heaves a white mark round a sunburned face, rendering it difficult for a uniformed man to do duty in plain clothes without broadcasting Hie fact that he is a policeman.
