The four-weekly meeting of the r.aversham Literary Club was held on Saturday evening, there being a small attendance of members and visitors. The subject of the evening was a lantern lecture by Messrs H. W. Roddy and Roland Ellis, describing the scenic beauties of Western Otago. The scenes, taken from the head of Lake up the Dart and Rees Valleys, paid great tribute to the photography of Mr Ellis, interest being addpd by Mr Roddy’s running, descriptions. The slides were followed by moving pictures taken in the same locality, which wore unique in being the first taken in Western Otago. At the conclusion Messrs Roddy and Ellis were accorded n hearty vote of thanks for their services.
