UNEMPLOYMENT.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Let me quote what appears to be an example- of one of the causes of the present unemployment. Is it not a fact that one of the leading soft goods warehouses in this city is at present employing (on temporary 'work) on its office staff, a married .woman, whose husband is in constant employment? Could not one of the many single ladies, at present unemployed, do this work? In view of the number of applicants for every advertised office position, surely our daughters find it difficult enough to secure a position without having to } compete with married women.—l am, etc., \ Live and Let Live. August ,6.
