WORLD’S WHEAT CROP

AN INSUFFICIENT SUPPLY. LARGE CARRY-OVER WILL HELP. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) LONDON, August 4. (Received August 4, at 5.5 j p.m.) The world wheat crop for 1020-30 is likely to be insufficient to meet the consumptive demand, says the agricultural market report received' here. Drought has adversely affected the spring wheat and the sowing of new crops in the United States, while there is insufficient rain in Argentina, Australia, and Canada. Fortunately there are universally large quantities of wheat remaining from 1028-20, which will help to counteract the deficiency in the new crops, so there is every reason to believe that the supplies from the exporting countries In l02l)-3() will meet the demand of the' importing countries. The existence of a much closer' relation between supply and demand would, however, undoubtedly result in a higher level of prices.—Australian Press Association.
