TWO-MILE HANDICAP. The Otago Amateur Cycling Club took advantage of the opportunity presented a the interval in the Rugby League match between Christian Brothers and Pacific on Saturday to hold a two-mile handicap race. There was a good field, , 11 ,. ' r? facin S the starters, and a splendid race was witnessed. The result was as follows Conroy, 50yds 1 A. Hussey, IfiOyds .' 2 J. Parsons, 100yds 3 Also started: C. Lucas 25yds, H Cooper 85. R. W. Taylor 85, W. TernI’m 0 '!. 1^° > P’ 1, ’ rascr 10 °- J. M'Millan 140. Cockcrill ICO, V. Wilson 175, R. • T :' r ; ksf l ,n 3# T. Dillon 175, T. Rennie 44JC J. M Gregor 230. Ihe majority of the riders wore close together for the greater part of the distance. At the beginning of the last lap Hussey was leading from Parsons, with Conroy close up, while Lucas and Templeton were a very short distance fuither hack. Conroy improved his position round the back, but at the eulance to the straight it was impossible o say who would win. An excellent finish resulted m a victory for Conroy hy a length, while only half a length separated Hussey and Parsons. M'Millan did not finish. Xo time was taken.
