NOVEL BOXING MATCH

BECOME INVOLVED. AUSTRIAN FELLED WITH STOOL. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) VIENNA, June 12. Czecho-Slovakia has a novel method of conducting boxing matches. During a tournament at Znaim the Czech champion, Jirsa, suddenly sprang into the ring and challenged Fristensky, the Austrian champion, who was present as a spectator.

Fristensky accepted the challenge on condition that it should be a fight to a finish without intervals between the rounds, whereupon the champions stripped. Jirsa, however, was weakening at the end of 19 minutes, and he suddenly picked np his second’s stool and felled Fristensky.

The Austrian’s seconds jumped into the ring, and a free .fight began. Soon the whole audience became involved, and when the police arrived they found a score of people injured. Fristensky was taken to hospital with a broken head. —Australian Press Association—United Service.
