AMATEUR ATHLETICS. VISIT OF CANADIAN TEAM. (Per United Press Association.) rri n WELLINGTON. June 13. llie Council of the New Zealand Ath letic Association has received a request from Victoria for a visit from the Canadian athletes, who are coming to 'New Zealand next summer. It was decided to agree if Victoria paid one-third of the preliminary expenses and of the fare to Aew Zealand and back, and also the fare from New Zealand to Australia and back. Lay’ s javelin throw of 206 ft Gin, at Wellington on February 23, was passed as a New Zealand.and Australian record. KIRK-WINDEYER CUP TEAM. Black, of Hamilton, mav not be available to tak® Ins place in the New Zealand golf teaifi to_ meet New South Wales in the 'Kivk-Windcver Cup com* petition. Should this be so, the Golf Council will need to select another player .to join S. Morpeth. T. H. Horton, and Dr Ross for New Zealand. Meantime there ia no official news of Black’s withdrawal.
