DR R. V. FULTON.

PRESENTATION OF .MEMORIAL PHOTOGRAPH. ’ CEREMONY AT BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL. The Otago Boys’ High School was the scene of a brief but simple ceremony yesterday morning when, before the boys assembled in the school hall, a presentation was made V' Dr Roland Fulton of an enlarged photograph of his late father. Those who attended were: The Mayor (Mr R. S. Black), Mr G. M. Thomson, M.L.C., Dr Roland and Mrs H. V. Fulton, Dr G. E. Thomson (chairman of the Board of Governors), Mr D. Calder (president of the Old Boys’, Society), Messrs J. J. Mallard, W. R. Brugh, and R, D. Fairmaid. . After prayers had been read, the rector (Mr W. J, Morrell) introduced Dr Roland Fulton, who in a few words addressed the. boys, emphasising his late father's love of the school as exemplified Tiy his work in • collaboration with Mr T. D. Pearce in the compilation of the Old Boys’ Register, a labour - of five years. This laid the foundation for the wonderfully enthusiastic reunion of old boys in 1913, the-year of the school •jubilee. Reference was made to the indefatigable work in the Old Boys’ Society, of which he was one of the founders, and to his great work at the school diamond jubilee celebrations in 1923. After Dr .E. V. Fulton’s death in 1924, the Board of Governors named the. splendid new group of buildings, then just completed, the Fulton Block. The speaker stated that it was the wish of Mrs E. V. Fulton and himself that an enlarged photograph should be presented to the school, and requested that it be hung in the Fulton Block.

Dr Fulton then formally handed over the enlargement to the rector, who, in accepting it on behalf of the school, referred to Dr R. V. Fulton’s yeoman service as member of the Board of Governors and as chairman of that body for two years. He considered, the photo an excellent likeness, and he doubted whether any old boy had ever done so much for the school.

The Mayor also mentioned Dr Fulton’s invaluable services to the school and to the Old Boys’. Society, and stressed the example of such men to the present bovs.
