A BEAUTY HINT.
Reaction follows the fashion which most smart women adopted within the last few months of having a brilliant carmine nailvarmsh. -Colour is still worn, but the new shade is a compromise with that rather outre tone, being darker and consequently less conspicuous. Long, pointed nails are not recommended by good manicurists now, except to lengthen very stubby hands. Smart women are wearing their ■ nails well rounded and not unduly long. That is good, because long nails give an acquisitive, grasping look to some otherwise innocent hands.
