LONDON, April 26, {Received April 27, at 0.20 a.m.) The Air Ministry states that passing Jask (Persia) the airmen covered 3500 miles, averaging 87 miles an hour. Al-, most 2000 more miles are required to reach Bangalore (India).—Australian Press Association—United Service. A British attempt to beat the world’s non-stop long-distance air record began on Wednesday, when a Royal Air. Force monoplane with a single 450-horse-power engine left Cranwell aerodrome for Calcutta. It is piloted by Squadron-Leader Jones-Williams and Flight-Lieutenant N. A. Jenkins.
