THE BRIDEGROOM’S GIFTS.

The modern bridegroom takes a tremendous amount of trouble in the selection of his K*fts to his bride’s attendants. Instead of giving an order to the jeweller for so many broodies or bracelets, as the case might be, het finds out exactly what would be most acceptable to each recipient. The great craze for synthetic and semiprecious jewellery helps him to make his decisions. For one bridesmaid he chooses, perhaps, a clasp of brilliantly-coloured semi-Ei'eeious stones with which she catches the draperies of her gown. To another he presents a bracelet to decorate the cuff of a long sleeve, or a ring with a great liquid blue stone, to be worn with a dress in which blue is the prevailing colour. , Buttonholes are, at the moment, a favourite gift from bridegroom to bridesmaids, A gold or silver dower studded with jewels makes a most acceptable gift. When a pearl necklace is decided upon, it takes the form of a double or triple row of pearls, with a clasp of brilliants. Several twisted strands of tiny pearls form other necklaces, while the very latest thing in bracelets is composed of four or five strands of pearls caught with a diamond clasp and inset with diamond motifs.
